Another solution

ANOTHER solution to the West Parade bottleneck pointed out by Tony Tubb, (Letters, February 25) is one I suggested years ago as a member of the Bexhill Cycle Forum.

It would solve the problem without losing parking spaces and make it safer for faster cyclists like myself. Slower ones and children could use use the promenade, hopefully soon, legally.

This would be to make the West Parade one way westwards from the Sackville roundabout as far as the clock tower (Park Avenue) or even to Brockley Road.

Then make Egerton Road one way eastwards, this making this road - which is another congested one - less troublesome and safer.

Either Park Avenue or Brockley Road made one way northwards, both left into them and then right-turning into Egerton Road seem capable of accommodating the type of vehicles that use West Parade now.

The Bexhill Museum and the improved Egerton Park would benefit as passing vehicles would notice them more. The signage may cost a little, but I feel would be worth it.
