Another stealth tax on residents

I have just read an article in the current issue of the Horsham District News about the proposed charge by Horsham District Council for the disposal of green waste. This is yet another stealth tax on the residents of West Sussex.

No mention has been made about the thousands of brown wheelie bins which will have to be disposed of from those residents who do not sign up for the new charges.

Could the council please advise what plans it has made for these unused bins?

The original cost of the bins must have been several hundreds of thousands of pounds and represents a total waste of money.

I also understand that HDC is planning to bring in charges for evening parking, possibly £1 for two hours between 18.00 to 20.00. This will seriously affect the people going to Horsham’s Capitol Theatre which is already struggling to cover costs.
