As good as pros

Congratulations to Littlehampton Musical Comedy Society on its first-class production of Kiss Me, Kate at the Windmill last week.

In every way the show was as good as the professional version staged at the Chichester Festival Theatre last year.

As the amateur production gained a well-deserved ovation, I sat there wishing that the Arun District Council members who seem so determined to close the Windmill could have experienced the joyous atmosphere in the auditorium and the pleasure that amateur productions, such as this one, give to so many local people.

LMCS is optimistically advertising future shows up to January, 2015, so let’s hope that the Windmill is still standing by that date, and that all the pro-closure councillors find a window in their busy lives to support the shows staged at the theatre, and witness for themselves why it is so vital to keep it open.
