Australian museum has details of brothers' visit

HAVING read the article about Alan Gammon's visit to Littlehampton, Australia (Gazette, July 2), I would like to tell you that I was there for a day in 1999, with my brother George Burdfield, who has lived in New South Wales for 60 years.

That year, we toured all over Australia in his caravan and called into Littlehampton.

With the help of two directors of the Littlehampton Brick Co., we were told where to find the church of St James.

Mr Gammon is quite wrong in saying no one from Littlehampton, West Sussex, had been there before.

The museum has all the itinerary regarding our visit, as they were going to do an article like you have.

Somewhere in my home I have a diary of our four-and-a-half month tour of Oz in 1999.
