Barnardo’s Toddle at Anne Frank Montessori

Submitted by Anne Frank Montessori.

Fifteen toddlers from Anne Frank Montessori Southwater, got together with parents, carers and teachers set out on a Toddle for Barnardo’s, to raise funds for disabled children to have a lovely day out.

It rained a little when they set off but that could not dampen their spirits. Many had dressed up as characters from nursery rhymes or fairy tales.

The Toddle took them part-way down the South Downs Link just opposite the nursery, ending at a little bridge giving lovely views over fields and cattle.

After a photo shoot everybody turned back, looking forward to playtime in the playground opposite the nursery.

Thankfully the rain was only light and a few towels helped to keep the slides and swings dry enough.

The event was completed with a picnic at the nursery, with zebra cake the children made earlier that morning, for dessert (It was ‘z’ week).

Donations are still coming in, but already the children raised more than their £130 target, a fantastic achievement, thanks to many generous sponsors. Wonderful job done, and good fun! 
