Battle is still on

Your report on the recent decision by the Development Control Committee of Arun District Council (Gazette, May 15) quoted me as saying that I thought the decision to approve the applications for 370 houses in Angmering as ‘unfortunate, but that’s just how it is’.

I cannot recall making this statement but, in any event, would certainly wish to correct any impression that Save Angmering Village has thrown in the towel as far as maintaining its fight against large scale development in the village.

Certainly, in the light of this decision, we need to take stock of our position as an action group but our resolve remains steadfast.

We don’t believe Arun District Council has made an objective decision in the best interests of Angmering or its residents and fully intend to continue the fight against further development.
