Beats the X Factor

WHAT an amazing treat was in store for all those who ventured to the Windmill Entertainment Centre last week to watch the Summer Variety Spectacular presented by the Sherrie Lorraine School of dancing.

From a personal point of view, having spent three years writing up a number of so-called acts in Tenerife for and on behalf of a number of tour operators and newspapers, I said I would never do it again.

But having just spent over two hours watching an incredible bunch of wonderful people, young and old, short and tall, express themselves with such professionalism, I had to put pen to paper.

All the performers would give the majority of the people on X-factor a run for their money.

Their timing was amazing, their interaction matched that of a West End show and the music and choreography were simply stunning.

I could go on for ages, but, sadly, as the show is over, you can't see it.

Next year, please make an effort, go and see the talent which comes from among us all, as everyone is local, your friend, your neighbour, the kid next door, even your mother or brother –that is what makes our time so special.

Well done to you all.
