Big thank you from Battle Lions

Battle and Villages Lions Club would like to thank all those members of the public who supported the following events over the Christmas period.

The street collection carried out on Saturday 21st December during the morning in Battle High Street raised £133:02. This was as considerable achievement as it was collected over a less than 2 hours due to heavy rain and high winds.

Prior to Christmas chocolate Santa’s were distributed to local pubs and other outlets, with a chance for one winner to receive the Santa for a £1. The public were again very generous and a total sum of £540:91 was raised

The Lions would like to thank all those premises who took part in this fund raising event and raised such a wonderful sum of money.

We will be placing chocolate Easter eggs in premises again this year over Easter period. If you see one of our eggs, please help us to raise funds. By taking part and choosing a number in the competition you will be helping someone who need your help.

An evening of Christmas music was performed at Battle Memorial Hall on the 7th December entitled “ Christmas Cracker.” The Rother Community Choir provided the entertainment and Jempson’s of Battle provided the mince pies. This event raised £ 247:00

These events were organised by the members of Battle and Villages Lions Club, they give of their time to raise money for local charities and those people in need of help in crisis.
