BLODS seeking public support

THE Bexhill Light Operatic and Dramatic Society (BLODS) wishes to thank all those who came to see our production of Aida at the De La Warr Pavilion and for the extremely good feedback we have been receiving from our audience.

Unfortunately, because of the cost of staging such a production, we will make a heavy loss on the show which, these days, is the norm. We are unable to produce such a large show in the autumn this year, due to a lack of funds, but will be producing a ‘revue’ at St Peters Community Centre in November and hope to see our supporters there.

We have to raise funds to keep the society going and to continue to stage our shows, particularly at the De La Warr Pavilion. We would welcome any sponsorship or associate members who would like to help us by joining as a non-active member, or making a donation to the BLODS or sponsoring us in any way. Anyone wishing to do so is welcome to contact me on 01424 216689.

As I am sure everyone will appreciate, costs are continually rising, but we are determined to see that the BLODS has a definite future after surviving for 79 years in Bexhill. But we do need public support, hence this appeal.

I look forward to hearing from anyone who can help us.
