Business as usual

FURTHER to my letter of February 4, regarding the 'black holes' of Sackville Road, I regret to inform you that there is now great concern as to the whereabouts of the 'lesser spotted gas workmen'. These mythical beings have been rarely sighted and it has been suggested that they may have vanished into the 'graves' they have recently dug. There is also grave concern (couldn't resist the pun) as to the whereabouts of that somewhat rarity, the Sackville Road shopper. Indeed, it has been noted that this increasingly rare species has been in rapid decline since the suppposed arrival of the lesser spotted gas workmen. Joking aside ... despite the disruption, reduction in valuable parking spaces and the road rage that we witness on a daily basis - due to the buses, refuse trucks, delivery vans and regular motorists trying to negotiate our road, which has had its width reduced - please be assured that we and all the shops in Sackville Road are open for business as usual, and will always give a friendly welcome and offer competitive prices and old-fashioned personal customer service to all the brave souls who venture into our road.
