Can anyone tell me why my husband can’t go out on a lone motorbike ride in the lockdown?

Unfortunately I am one of those people that have to stay indoors. I am lucky in so much as I have a garden I can walk around and get some fresh air.

My husband thankfully does all the shopping and can get my medication. I also like to sit by the window and watch the world go by. There is the lady jogger that runs every morning,a couple of dog walkers making their way to the public footpath and cyclists. The cyclists are rarely on their own and tend to still ride two abreast. On two occasions there have been a big bunch of them, so much for the rules!

My husband has a motorbike. He likes to go out for an hour or less, on his own, riding around the country lanes. He wears a scarf over his nose and mouth, a full-face helmet and gloves.

Please can someone explain why he can’t continue with his lone rides around the country lanes when cyclists, riding side by side in their Lycra which offers no protection from the virus at all, can?
