My husband, Douglas Dawson, IMDB, was a son of Eastbourne.

He had five brothers – Jim, Cyril, Bert – are three that I met, also Ron and Eric.

Douglas was born in 1930 and sadly recently passed away.

He lost contact with the family many years ago and his siblings died years ago.

Douglas left Eastbourne in around 1951, having trained as an electrician, and went to sea to work on board ship. (He probably left after the death of his mother, Esther Angell, that year).

He later worked as an electrician in the film industry, and eventually moved on to become a stills photographer, working on many famous films such as The Empire Strikes Back, Outland, and the original Italian Job to name a few.

I believe Jim had two children and would very much like to make contact with them or their descendants as I have the family Bible and would like to see it returned to the family.

It is around 150 years old and has annotations from the brothers’ grandparents.

We moved to Spain in 1988, where we spent four years restoring a 400 year old house and turned it into a restaurant and B&B. Subsequently we moved to central Portugal and restored an old farmhouse.

We moved to the Algarve five years ago. Douglas died in February, having been ill for a long time.

I would very much like to hear from a descendant of the Dawson family so that I can return the Bible to a rightful owner.

Please email me on [email protected] if you have any information that could help me.
