Canadian lesson
I have recently visited relatives in Canada and learnt that fireworks cannot be purchased for individuals to use on their own property.
All firework shows have to be licensed by a local authority. Therefore, there are usually organised firework displays on Canada Day, etc., managed by an organisation/s regulated by a local authority.
Sounds a good idea to me and the Canadians do not appear to have a problem with these arrangements.
