The 2013 GCSE Art, Design and Technology Show saw parents, pupils, staff, governors and specially invited guests treated to a superb display of work across the subject areas including art, product design, resistant materials, engineering and hospitality & catering.

The exhibition was the culmination of the boys’ coursework and controlled assessments over the two-three year courses.

The standard of work was universally high.

Sarah Prades, team leader for art added: “In art we encourage pupils to draw on personal experience and the environment around them as well looking at established artists when developing their ideas; this results in the very varied and individual work we have on show this evening.”

The pupils have also been able to use various trips as source material, including a trip to London gallery Tate Modern.

Guests were served drinks and a selection of delicious canapés made by the hospitality and catering pupils as they wandered around the ‘pop-up’ gallery at the school for this one-night only show.

Headteacher Siobhan Denning added: “I am extremely proud of every pupil who is showcasing their work here tonight and of the staff who are so dedicated in ensuring every one of them has achieved their very best.
