Childish battle

With regards to your article ‘Councils battle over town hall car park’ (Gazette, August 22), can I ask Arun District Council what on earth it thinks it is doing by waging a childish ‘battle’ with Arundel Town Council?

Arun is meant to be managing the public purse, not wasting it on litigation against another public body.

The parking spaces, if sold privately, would probably be unusable, anyhow, as there would be no access to them. These spaces need to stay as part of the Town Hall, as they help to raise desperately needed income, in the form of weddings, meetings and functions to help maintain the continued use of the building.

I cannot understand why Arun continues with this absurd pursuance of something that is a shared public resource. It must stop squandering public money, fighting another local authority, before this gets out of control and ends up costing the taxpayer dearly.
