Cleanliness ia our priority

I am writing in response to the recent letter of complaint that featured in the letters '˜Opinion' pages in the Littlehampton Gazette on Thursday 12 May 2016, regarding litter along the A259/Eldon Way from Mr Porter.

I would like to assure Mr Porter that Arun District Council is pursuing a solution to this long standing problem through partnership working with the other agencies, which also have responsibilities for the land in question.

It is disappointing that a minority of people feel it is acceptable to continue to litter and fly tip items on public land, but the Council is committed to tackling these problems to ensure our District remains an attractive place for residents and visitors alike.

Residents should always report concerns through [email protected]

Public satisfaction with the cleanliness of our streets and open spaces continues to be high, with a satisfaction rate of 69% in the recent resident’s survey sent to 1,800 residents within the District.

Arun District Council will continue to strive to improve on this level of satisfaction through the commitment of our dedicated staff, working in partnership with our contractors and the public.
