Amelia’s mum, Sally, said: “Amelia was really proud when she found out she had won the competition. She’s quite modest in nature, but proudly told her Grandpa, who spends a lot of time colouring with her. She loves colouring, it is one of her favourite things to do.

“Amelia loves gardening, she’s influenced a lot by her grandparents’ interest in it. She’s often helping her Daddy in the garden and enjoyed helping us plant some plants with her new equipment. She was very pleased to have some wellies in the same brand as mine!”

Sally added: “It’s nice that the garden centre offers these types of experiences for children, it’s good to develop their interests and positive for their self-esteem.”

Two runners up, Anna Trangmar, aged 10 and Robyn Cherriman aged 7, were awarded with a fun selection of children’s seeds.
