Comments were taken out of context

FOLLOWING the letter by Janet Crosley (Gazette, March 28), I would like to clarify that my comments have been used in a different way to how they were said and out of context.

During my visit to the Littlehampton Civic Society’s meeting, I said the following:

:: localism has been around for a long time and is the basis of how most sports clubs and societies are run, and is not new;

:: councillors are elected to represent members of the public and make decisions on their behalf;

:: it is always difficult to hear from the silent majority as opposed to the vocal minority;

:: Arun District Council is doing all it can to work with the appropriate bodies to prevent the old hospital site, which is owned by the NHS Property Co from April 1, being used for housing.

These are the facts, and not as have been misrepresented.
