Leading insurers RSA teamed up with the college for the competition, and provided a judging panel which had the difficult task of narrowing down more than 80 entries which aimed to capture the town’s vibrant character.

After much deliberation, 18 year old Emma Chard, who caught the historic beauty of the old Horsham Townhall and Horsham Carfax, was chosen as the winner. Emma’s photograph will be printed and displayed in the local RSA Horsham office and she will also receive a Canon EOS 1200D DSLR2 camera. The two runners up, Harry Jones and Leah Bendelow, also receive Canon IXUX 265 compact digital cameras.

Nicki Dines, regional manager, RSA said: “It was really difficult for us to whittle down the winning photograph but Emma’s really stood out with its beautiful lighting. We have been extremely impressed by both the volume and quality of entries, and we are delighted to showcase such great local talent. It’s fantastic that we have been able to work with Collyer’s and the local community to produce these wonderful photographs which we are proud to display in our office for all our customers to see.”

Laura Andrews, photography subject leader at Collyer’s, said: “It has been wonderful to collaborate with RSA and I am so proud of all our students who entered the competition. The photographs are a testament to their hard work and dedication”.
