Confused by Worthing MPs' stances on A27

I am thoroughly confused by our Worthing MPs about the A27.

Mr Loughton stood at the last election with his first action point being to pursue a bypass for Worthing and Lancing.

Sir Peter Bottomley doesn’t appear to care at all for the hundreds of constituents likely to be, or already blighted by, any plans for works on the A27.

I can only hope nobody is satisfied by Mr Loughton’s words last week. The words that matter are on the Highways England website and they threaten to destroy North Worthing.

Significant works on the current A27 will mean 10,000, yes ten thousand vehicle movements a day will need to find new routes.

The other 10,000 will be locals severely delayed. All this for three or more years (Highways England information), after three years of uncertainty.

I look forward to Mr Loughton getting a new action statement from Highways England very soon, or Mr Loughton will have to explain why “we don’t need to worry”.

Ah, I understand, Worthing in total needs to PANIC, not worry. Highways England drive the diggers that will destroy Worthing visually and economically, not Tim Loughton.

Wake up Worthing, or feel the pain.
