Congratulations to the reconstructed District Council who have taken the initiative to think “outside the box” in proposing to form a building company to boost the supply of homes for lower income groups of people.

The Thatcher scheme having been found to be flawed. Council Housing after both world wars in terms of statistics - worked.

Hopefully the hundred percent public funded Housing Associations will ride off into the sunset, having become self perpetuating investment organisations.

“Affordable Housing” is a silly “buzz word” meaning subsidized. By either richer people or the public. Sadly, the problem of offering a non-regulatory shelter for rough sleepers to replace their rags is still with us in the 21st century. Will the day come when houses are passed down the wealth chain like cars?
