Cynically dismissive

IN October last year a Rother District Council survey amongst its 3,000 strong residents' panel on the De La Warr Pavilion found that the majority were dissatisfied with it. The council's response was to cancel any further surveys. In February, 2,200 local residents signed a Bexhill Alliance petition telling RDC that they were dissatisfied with the performance-related element of RDC's funding of the Pavilion. The council's response was to make this funding 'no strings attached' core funding instead. On May 5 these local residents will have the opportunity to tell the ruling Conservative councillors what they think about these cynically dismissive decisions. This is one consultation they cannot cancel or hide from.
