Disadvantages of Waitrose move

I echo the sentiments of Patricia Clark, as stated in her letter (County Times February 7).

I would like to add the following points: the beauty of the current Horsham Waitrose is that it differs in all respects from the other supermarkets.

If it is relocated to the other side of town and enlarged, it will merely become another such supermarket, and then will retain none of its present excellent features, namely: a perfect town centre situation, small in size, compact, personal attention by helpful, friendly staff selling quality products.

It would also lose its individuality and many loyal customers for whom that is paramount, plus many who presently live within easy walking distance, and if relocated would have to rely on transport, as the distance to the other side of town would be too far.
