Dodgy statistics on both sides

With three weeks to go before the nation makes its once in a life time decision to vote Leave or Remain in the European Union the two sides continue to insult our intelligence with dodgy statistics.

But getting down to basic facts is actually not that difficult.

It is simply to ask the question to ones self whether one wants to continue to be governed by an unelected bureaucratic body whose only aim to move forward to a United State of Europe to which would be eventually added many more European countries such as Turkey and Albania all having free movement under the EU Treaty to move its peoples across its borders?

A vote to remain would undoubtedly ensure we had to accept economic migrants from the EU, whether or not they have a job offer. It surely must be right that immigration policy should have democratic consent.

Also do we want to accept the European Court of Justice’s ultimate authority over whether we can remove persons whose presence in the UK is not conducive to the public good?

I believe the EU is fundamentally flawed and will not survive in the long term in its present form.

The organisation we know as the EU changed beyond recognition between the British referendum of June 1975 and the launching of the European Union 17 years later in 1992. Who knows where it will be in another 17 years’ time in 2033?

I honestly believe Britain will have a bright future in the longer term despite what the economic statistics are saying that we are all ‘doomed’ if we vote to leave. I trust the people of this country will make the right decision to leave on the June 23.
