Doubts over Durrington Hill traffic calming plan

Although I understand the need to reduce traffic speed on residential roads, I am not convinced the measures undertaken on Durrington Hill are sensible or will prove effective. The raised sections at the two road junctions are not high enough to make a difference and the large hump between these is, in my opinion dangerously high. The signs are hard to see and one is behind a lamp post.

I don’t believe the disruption caused when the work was undertaken and the cost of same was justified. Surely a speed camera would have been a more sensible option as this would bring in cash as well as act as a deterrent.
