Drains are full of muck and leaves

A possible answer as to why water comes out of a drain is lack of maintenance by East Sussex highways.

We have had a drain doing the same thing in Rosemary Lane, Fairlight, for the last five years.

Last August I contacted them regarding blocked drains, again in October, then once again in November only to be told that the highway steward had inspected them on both occasions and found nothing wrong.

They had not even been to look at them.

To date they are still covered with leaves and still completely full of muck, so when we get heavy rain the road floods shutting it to traffic.
