Eastbourne fundraisers thank town for support

I would like to say a huge thank you, through your newspaper, to everyone who has continued to support us this year.

Myself, my daughter Abby and my son Thomas have been fundraising for the past eight years.

This has been a particularly difficult year for all charities, so I am particularly pleased that we have managed to put on so many different events, raising nearly £25000 for several local charities and individuals.

Since we started, we have had tremendous support from more than 90 local businesses.

I’d like to say a special thank you to Bob Bremer, chairman of Sussex Cars, for their incredible generosity.

Also thanks to Jack and Matt Hepburn from BM Hepburn Ltd, Steve Visick from Visick Cars, and Avi Da Silva from Madeira for their continued support.

I’d also like to say a special thank you to Andy and his team at Plan Ahead, everybody at the Langham and the Grand Hotel, Willingdon Golf Club, Motcombe School, Sainsbury’s and Marks and Spencer.

The list goes on and on, and there is simply not enough space to thank everyone, but there has been so much support from individuals as well as organisations.

But finally – a big thank you to Juliet Mead and Julia Northcott from the Eastbourne Herald who have helped enormously by advertising and promoting our events, and Eastbourne Mayor Steve Wallis and Eastbourne and Willingdon MP Caroline Ansell.

Earlier this year, we were very proud and excited to receive an invitation to Buckingham Palace.

Unfortunately due to current events this has been postponed until next year – let’s hope by then life has returned to some degree of normality, and we can continue working with the amazing people of Eastbourne to raise even more money for worthwhile causes.
