Eastbourne MP has a social conscience

Regardless of one’s political views, full credit must be given to Caroline Ansell for voting against the government on the issue of extending free school meals to children from families struggling with the pandemic.

It is brilliant to see her follow her instincts as a teacher and for her to take this stance as a person who has an expert knowledge regarding matters such as this.

She has obviously not taken this decision lightly; it must have been extremely difficult for her and required lots of courage. Her decision not only involved a break with Tory policy but also led her to resign the position she held within DEFRA.

So full marks to Caroline for truly proving to the people of Eastbourne that she is a Member of Parliament with a social conscience and one whom we can be proud of to call our MP.
