Eastbourne school’s great Covid-19 response

I thought it necessary to email you about the outstanding school we have here in Eastbourne – St Catherine’s College – and how incredible it has been in handling this entire pandemic crisis.

Their dedication to pupils and parents during lockdown was second-to-none in my eyes, and I feel strongly that they should be given recognition for the kindness and support they provided.

Not only did this excellent school keep in touch with my children, personally, on a weekly basis throughout, but they also regularly provided support and up-to-date information to us parents.

The children were kept as integrated as possible with live lessons, videos and group tutor sessions, and alongside this both parents and children were sent daily mindfulness and wellbeing support tasks to help with anxiety and stress, which I find outstanding.

I have felt totally supported throughout, and can only imagine that many other parents have felt the same; which is why I thought it would be fantastic if you could please mention this amazing school in our local paper.

Mr Berhane, head of the school, and his entire team of staff deserve a huge thank you for their continuous support during this 2020 turmoil.
