Another loss? I do wonder if the council, in their wisdom, ever consider the results that can occur from selling up some properties to replace money losses in other areas?

Do they ever consider the elderly? The minefield blocks in the town centre are an example.

One or two small trees, perhaps ornamental cherry, with a circular wooden seat bench surrounding them would have looked nice and been practical for some seating!

Now, the council is meeting to decide about selling and moving the Tourist Information Centre in Cornfield Road to the new Welcome Building next to the Congress, how short sighted is that!

Many people may agree with me that the Devonshire Park Theatre, for example, is well patronised and used frequently by many older members of the public.

Cornfield Road is easy to reach by bus from both ends of the town. One can buy gift vouchers plus tickets in advance there and then be able to return home again by buses across the road.

This building would be very badly missed if moved, and I am sure it would affect sale from the shop too.

We haven’t all got cars and it would be much too far to walk! It’s an absolutely ridiculous idea.
