Added to this, an event to be held at Billingshurst Primary School offering fans of the show the opportunity to meet Lynda has now been extended to accommodate the demand.

The event, ‘An Evening with Lynda Lewis’ on 30 April 2014 from 7pm, will give Lynda the opportunity to share her experience, offer expert advice and answer any sewing questions.

Sponsored by Kavanagh’s Budgens and Pfaff, the evening will also include the chance to bid for some very special prizes in a unique auction.

Characteristically modest about her achievements, Lynda has turned down numerous requests to set up a sewing class since her appearance on the show however, at the event, attendees will be able to bid for a chance to win an exclusive, one-hour private sewing lesson with Lynda.

Other rare auction prizes include a copy of The Great British Sewing Bee Series 2 book, signed by Lynda, afternoon tea with the star and a special one off item made by Lynda

The evening is open to everyone and the few remaining places can be booked by e-mailing [email protected] or calling 07966 465569. Tickets cost £4 and include a glass of wine, with all proceeds going towards the school’s fundraising efforts.

Having worked at the School since 2011, Mrs Lewis is hoping to help raise over £1,000 to update and extend the outdoor equipment for the children.

Since filming finished Lynda has been busy at the School in her role as a learning support assistant as well as running her own after school sewing class for the children, supported by Pfaff and Janome.
