Fairness forgotten

NICK Wiltshire (Gazette letters, July 8) uses one of the oldest political tricks in the book in side-stepping what his Tory government is doing to some of the poorest paid civil servants, in attacking their pensions.

Let it not be forgotten that we thought Liberal Democrats once stood for fairness, but now he and his party are mouthpieces for a Tory regime that is going to play havoc with the poorest section of the population.

It was not, and is not, my intention to have a political argy-bargy with Mr Wiltshire, but even he must realise the harm his party has done by giving us a full-blown Tory government, where it seems from what we have already seen, fairness is the last thing on their minds.
