This was the first year the event had to be held inside the New Courtyard Hall due to poor weather.

Even so, over 40 dogs registered for 9 classes and it was great to see so many Farlington family and friends come together to support each other and enjoy a great family afternoon.

There were many categories to enter: Most Handsome Dog, Dog with Waggiest Tail, Best Sausage Catcher, an Agility Course and a Fancy Dress Parade.

Headmistress Ms Higson and Mr and Mrs Michael Comyn oversaw the judging of the Fancy Dress Parade and Mr Steve Goulding, an ex-police dog trainer, and his wife judged the other 9 categories.

Best in Show was won by Teddy, a Welsh terrier, owned by Mrs Penny Huntsman. Reserve was Purdey, owned by Sophie Plowright and family.

Mr and Mrs Baker and Ms Higson ran the ‘sausage catching’ competition outside, while the puppies had their own class inside. It was very interesting to see information about the new War Dogs Remembered charity.

Thank you to the team of Prep 5 parents, who supplied delicious cakes and sold refreshments all afternoon, and the team of Prep Staff who helped all day.

Just over £400 was raised in two hours which will be used to provide bedding and food for the Prep School’s guinea pig and two rabbits in the School Warren.

A big thank-you must go to Comyn & James for their sponsorship and for providing wonderful rosettes to the top five winners in each class.
