Find an alternative route the cycle path planned for Hollington

From: Colin Ford, Wishing Tree Road, St Leonards-on-Sea

You say a senior councillor Phil Scott has given his support to the idea of a new walking and cycling route.

Wishing Tree road appears to be included withing the scheme. It was a shame that the people living in Wishing Tree Road have not been consulted on this. There is a lot of local opposition to this scheme.

Many returned the survey last year indicating an alternative route via Blackman Avenue and Ironlatch Avenue to the Gillsmans Hill roundabout.

In Blackman and Ironlatch Avenue there is the perfect route for the scheme. This alternative route will have less impact on local residents. Also using Blackman Avenue and Ironlatch Avenue is a more direct route to and from the schools. Perhaps local opposition will be considered, Wishing Tree Road is a lot narrower than Blackman/Ironlatch Avenue and the alternative route would appear to be the safer route.
