Flexible fiend

What a disgrace that, after many meetings and so much effort at local level, Arun District Council has decided to make the Littlehampton Neighbourhood Plan’s agreed proposals for the Littlehampton Swimming and Sports Centre flexible!

I thought upgrading the centre in its current location had already been agreed, or is there a developer hovering in the background?

Who or what is this ‘independent examiner’ who has passed Arundel’s neighbourhood plan, but now decides this change for Littlehampton? We are told by Arun’s council leader to look positively on this decision!

Why should the council tax payers of Littlehampton pay up to £40,000 in legal fees in order to change this decision? Presumably Arun, knowing that we don’t have the money, hopes that, as usual, the town will be forced to capitulate and Arun will get its way.

No wonder people become cynical.

I hope the people of Littlehampton will remember how this special town has been treated by our so-called ‘representatives’ and, when it comes to the next election, will vote accordingly!
