By completing the task the team will be raising money for two causes: Macmillan Cancer Support and a new community sports facility in Icklesham village.

In order to raise as much as possible the club is seeking individuals and businesses to sponsor one hole – or more – at £10 a time.

The club has pledged that if the amount raised hits £2,250 it will add a further £1,000 to bring the total to £3,250.

The challenge will take in Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Middlesex, Essex and Kent.
