The charity can’t reveal the name of the incarcerated beast at the moment, but the poor lost soul is desperate to gain its freedom so that it can join all the other elephants on the Rotary Club of Horsham’s Elephant Trail that takes place between 25th July and 30th August 2015, in and around Horsham.

The event is set to promote Horsham town and the surrounding areas throughout the summer holidays whilst at the same time fundraising for local charities and the Horsham based Born Free Foundation.

The charity has so far been unable to find a partner business willing to sponsor our elephant, despite their best efforts.

Service Co-ordinator Nick Handley said, “There can be a tendency for better known, good causes to be chosen instead of smaller fry like our local charity.

However, we believe that we are worthy, as we do some great work in the local community and help change lives for the better.”

In order to ‘FREE the Horsham One’ (and keep it safe meanwhile), the charity asks that members of the public make a small donation to West Sussex Mediation Service.

The money will go towards the initial cost of acquiring an Elephant to partake in the Trail. The charity will provide a personal photo of the fully decorated elephant, which they believe is set to become the pride of the herd!

If anyone is willing to display a ‘Free the Horsham One’ campaign poster in their window, they are requested to contact the charity on 01403 257800.
