As part of a special craft and hobby day on 15th February, exhibitor Mia Taggart will be raffling off her hand made iced masterpiece with all the money raised going to the Martlets Hospice in Hove.

Mia, whose sculpted cake designs are becoming more and more popular with Sussex residents has worked with companies such as Ibis, organisations including the NHS, Brighton and Hove Albion as well as many members of the public close to her Burgess Hill home. At the craft day she will be introducing visitors to the world of cake decorating and showing them how to get started. She will also have some of her impressive designs on display on the day.

Mia, who in 2012 created a replica of the Queen’s coronation crown in aid of the Martlets, added, “I have worked with Mayberry before raising money for a fantastic local charity I know they work with regularly. I am hoping the raffle will raise plenty of money for the hospice, and someone will get a unique cake to share with their friends!”

The craft day is taking part at Mayberry Garden Centre in Portslade between 10am and 2pm on Saturday 15th February. Demonstrations of cake decorating, knitting, home brewing and card making, as well as a vintage spinning display will attempt to persuade visitors to take up a new hobby for 2014.
