Greater care taken

IN view of the management determination to close Southlands Hospital to in-patients, it was interesting to read a comment from consultant physician Roger Tozer, in your report of the inquest of poor Harold Thrower from East Preston (Gazette, March 3).

Dr Tozer said: “We routinely take patients from Worthing to Southlands for rehabilitation, because it is the best place for them.

“It is quiet and there is the level of care appropriate to those patients needs.”

Dr Tozer is obviously more patient care-led than some of the managers.
