A special guest was Robert Piper, Chairman of the Management Committee for Southwater Village Hall which celebrated its 90th anniversary this year with a supper/dance on June 13. Invited guests included four members of the Wealden Guild who have held their monthly meetings at the hall for the past 22 years, together with representatives from other organisations who use the hall.

As part of the Wealden Guilds’ celebrations the members were asked to make a decorative tea cosy which resulted in a colourful display.

The Guild was formed in 1985 with the aim of promoting all aspects of weaving, spinning and dying and has, throughout its thirty years, demonstrated its skills at local events throughout the area.

Some of the tea cosies together with details of the guilds’ activities are currently on display at Southwater Library until Friday October 23.
