Gypsy site debate continues

Cllr Davies felt inclusion of Beeches Brook “could set a precedent”. There is no doubt that it will set a precedent, which will have significant consequences everywhere.

If permanent planning permission is granted for Beeches Brook it will send out a clear message from RDC that, as long as you own the land and ignore any planning laws and ensuing enforcement notices, you will, eventually, achieve your goal!

It was good to see RDC has answered the question as to whether or not it will compulsorily purchase the land at Beeches Brook in order to enable it to ‘provide’ the site to the gypsies.

My mistake, it has not. Presumably it continues to find itself “stuck between a rock and a hard place”.
