‘Hair-brained...’

MR STACEY’S name is familiar, but the contents of his letter seem to indicate that perhaps he is not local, as otherwise he would be aware that our council prefers to sell off necessary facilities to save money.

I refer him to January, 2008, when it was decided to allow the “redundant” public conveniences in the Manor House car park to be turned into offices for the use of Chichester College. In spite of a number of objections, including one from myself, it was decided to go ahead.

The problem with hair-brained schemes is that these quirky ideas attract publicity and eventually awards, while being promoted by organisations other than the council.
