Harvest day celebrations

Harvest Sunday continues to be an important part of the church year and Horsham churches are no exception. These pictures were taken at St Mary’s Church, Horsham on Sunday October 4, where a real celebration was held, including the contribution of ‘harvest’ gifts, an all age service, a baptism and a bring-and-share lunch.

Donations of non-perishable foods were collected for St Cuthman’s Light Centre on the Whitehawk estate in Brighton. The church was decorated with beautiful autumn arrangements comprising both flowers, fruit and vegetables, and was packed full of families.

“It was a really festive atmosphere both during and after the harvest service,” commented the Curate, Jimmy Young. “It is a lovely opportunity to give thanks to God for all the good things that He has provided us with, to share that provision, and also to share fellowship and get to know each other better.”
