I was very concerned to read the decision taken by East Sussex County Council to close the walk in centre .

The walk in centre closure could have been prevented if the chair ( Councillor Colin Belsey) had voted against the closure – the vote would have been tied and as he holds the chair he would have had the deciding vote.

The other councillors who voted to close the centre don’t even live in Eastbourne so it doesn’t affect their community – so you would hope that the councillor who does live in the community would vote in the community’s interest?

A sad day for the people of Eastbourne who use the drop in, a very bad decision in my view.

Cllr Belsey also voted to close the care homes – end the after school clubs for the special needs children .

Maybe it’s time to put party politics aside and vote in local elections for the person who will put the community before party.
