Helping local charities

ON behalf of President John Griffith and all the members of the Rotary Club of Bexhill, I would like to say a huge thank you to all who gave so generously when we, accompanied by Santa, his music, sleigh and reindeer came around the houses, collecting door to door in the evenings before Christmas and then, during two weekends collected outside the Bexhill branches of Tesco and Sainsbury's.

We would also like to thank the management of the two supermarkets for allowing us to collect outside their doors at Buckhurst Place and Ravenside.

Although we are a small part of a worldwide organisation that provide assistance and support to, among other things international disaster relief as well as being involved in the campaign aimed at the eradication of polio, every single penny you gave us during our Christmas collections will be given to local charities. Among these are St Jude’s, 1066 Specials, St Michael’s Hospice, Bexhill Caring Community, Home Start and Homecall, which will all receive from us the money you donated and they will get it early in 2011.
