Holes are accident waiting to happen

AS A town and Arun district councillor, I am disgusted at the way that two of our main thoroughfare roads, Clun Road and Courtwick Lane, have been allowed to get into such a state.

What does this say to people visiting the town or our businesses, when they drive into this area and see more potholes on a main road than on a rally track?

These two roads are very busy and are not just used for access to homes, but are also a main bus route and provide access to businesses.

These potholes are like craters on the moon and not only a danger for motorists and motorcyclists and cyclists, but for pedestrians, too.

These potholes are a lawsuit waiting to happen and all because of poor maintenance by West Sussex County Council.

Some residents have told me they have reported the potholes to the county highways department, but still nothing has happened and they are not happy.

I have also asked when this area is going to be repaired, but to no avail, as the people who deal with the scheduling are away.
