Homes benefit

I WRITE in response to the letter (Gazette, March 29) from Damian Champion about housing and infrastructure.

I would like to correct the impression the writer has that the proposed housing at North Littlehampton will happen without any infrastructure. One of the many benefits of this scheme will be a bridge over the railway line to bypass the current level crossing and to provide a new road adjacent to The Littlehampton Academy, to provide improved access into the heart of the town.

The development is also making significant financial contributions to health, education, community provision and leisure, to name but a few key areas.

In addition, Arun District Council has secured from this development and others over £4m towards the provision of a Lyminster bypass.

This has been achieved by having a positive dialogue with those who wish to invest in the area and with the town and county councils.
