Horsham barn hosts annual ball

The Annual Sussex Playford Ball, held in the Barn in the Causeway on June 6, was a happy and friendly occasion, the ladies dresses making a colourful reminder of how elegant we looked 300 years ago.

An enjoyable programme of dances was called by Rosemary Hunt to music provided by Orion’s Ring (Rosemary’s husband Steve and daughter Genni). The haunting tunes of the 17th/18th centuries lending just the right atmosphere to the evening.

In the interval, Bob and Margaret Weddell and Elaine Cox co-ordinated the delicious food brought by the dancers and served much needed tea and coffee. The spread was greatly appreciated by all and, luckily, the dancing in the second half soon helped to assuage the effects of any over indulgence.
