All those that attended enjoyed a barbecue and garden party in the sunshine that we were lucky to have on Saturday.

Westlake House has been nursing members of the community of Horsham and the surrounding area since July 1995 and some members of its staff have been at the home since it first opened, a fact that they take great pride in.

On Saturday Jo March, registered manager, made an award to one of a number of the members of staff who have worked at the home since 1995, Edna Small, who, at 85, is also it’s most mature staff member!

The home regularly holds events and activities for its residents and relatives ranging from picnics out, visits to the local pubs and regular games of table tennis or Curling.

Deputy Manager, Liz Higson, said: “It is important to recognise the hard work of our staff here at Westlake House. For the past 20 years, we have provided a caring home for our residents as well as the best possible environment for our staff. Today not only enables us to celebrate their hard work, but it’s also an opportunity to thank the residents, their relatives and friends who have helped contribute to such a loving home.”
