This is part of a general Lions Appeal in the South East to raise £250,000 in order that The Air Ambulance Helicopter, based at Redhill Aerodrome has a night time flying capability.

To date, the Appeal has raised £150,000 so Horsham Lions have decided to support this worthy cause for a second year through its Swimarathon.

The Swimarathon takes place at The Pavilions in the Park on Sunday 2 March 2014.

There is no entry fee, however each team will donate 50% of their sponsorship monies to The Kent Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Flying Appeal and the remaining 50% can be donated to either a Charity of the teams choice, including Horsham Lions, or for the benefit of their own organisation.

A team of up to 6 persons, whose ages need to be between 8 years and 70 years of age will swim one after the other a length of the main 25 metre pool for a period of 55minutes. Each team needs an adult non swimming team captain. Sponsorship is based on the number of lengths swum by each team over the 55 minute session.

Entry forms can be obtained via the Horsham Lions Club website: www.horshamlions.freeuk.com or by e-mailing Lion Tom Osborne on:[email protected]
